How To Download AQUATOX
AQUATOX is currently available for download as "EPA RELEASE 3" Additionally a beta version is available (see the link at the bottom of this screen.)
Beyond what was in EPA Release 2.2, EPA RELEASE 3 includes:
- Linked segments
- Enhanced nutrients analysis, including
- nutrient release from sediments
- daily dissolved oxygen fluctuations
- toxicity from low oxygen and ammonia
- Capability to simulate biological effects of suspended and bedded sediments
- Calculation of biological metrics
- Enhanced sensitivity and uncertainty analyses
- PFA (perfluorinated acids) model
- Estuary version
- ICE (Interspecies Correlation Estimates)
- Layered sediments
- Hourly time-step

We are continuing to develop AQUATOX and have a new beta executable available on this site. This version is different from EPA Release 3 in the following ways:
- Software Installer is 64-bit compatible
- Minor interface glitch fixed in which adding salinity to multi-segment runs was inadvertently disabled
- Minor change to calculation in light limitation due to canopy effects. (AQUATOX now assumes that 2% of incident radiation penetrates the canopy so a site that has 100% canopy cover still receives 2% light transmission.) This only affects sites in which canopy cover is entered as a constant value or time-series.
